I believe that every personal site should have a page about the author. It is the first place I look for when I visit a personal site myself. But, every time I create one of these I don't know what to say.

Here are some miscellaneous tidbits, in no particular order:

• my name is Cathy with a C (I get so used to saying that when I introduce myself)
  
  
• I graduated from high school in 1974 at the age of 17
  
  
• I am the oldest of 5 kids, with 2 brothers and 2 sisters, in that order
  
  
• growing up I always wanted to have lots of kids, but it didn't work out that way, and now I am far too set in my ways to want to do anything about it if I could
  
  
• I am mommy to 2, 7yr old kitties
  
  
• I became a widow at the age of 30 - the movie Bounce brought my own memories of that time vividly back to me (the circumstances were different but the feelings were real)
  
  
• growing up I always wanted to be a nurse, I went to 2 years of nursing school before I was sure it wasn't for me
  
  
• I have no intention of getting married again, but I am in a serious monogamous relationship
  
  
• some of my favorite foods are dark chocolate, peaches and cream, lobster tail, Beef Wellington, fresh bread, liver and onions, peas, baked or mashed potatoes, rice, and peanut butter and bacon sandwiches
  
  
• I can't eat hot (spicy) food - when I was very young I swallowed an acid that left small holes in my tongue, so now when I eat very acidic or hot spicy food it causes my tongue to swell up painfully)
  
  
• both cooked oatmeal and sauerkraut make me gag
  
  
• I am a perfectionist and a procrastinator
  
  
• I learned how to sew on a sewing machine when I was 4 years old
  
  
• I never crawled, I walked at 9 months
  
  
• I won a blue ribbon, along with the rest of my team, for cheerleading in the 4th grade
  
  
• I've been overweight most of my life
  
  
• I enjoy most crafts, especially knitting, crochet, cross-stitch and plastic canvas
  
  
• I've spent most of my life in California, except for a 7yr stint that included High School and Nursing School in Minnesota, and recently another 4yr try at it (I actually enjoyed it, weather and all, it was just time for a change)
  
  
• I have a burning desire to travel around Europe for an extended period of time
  
  
• My honeymoon included 10 days covering the east coast of Australia, 14 days in New Zealand and 3 days on Kauai in Hawaii. I'd love to have the opportunity to spend some more time in each place.
  
  
• My hair was a lovely shade of green for a short time, til I had it re-done to the purple it was meant to be.
  
  
• I LOVE to read (but you probably already knew that)
  
  
• Autumn is my favorite time of the year. It is the time of year when I am most apt to make changes in my life, for the better.
