26 Oct 2001:   Cathy (wedding) - beginning

When I was going through my pictures, trying to find something to make a pattern of, I found another picture of me that I've always liked. I don't know why I'm doing this exactly, since I'm not married anymore, but...

Since I've never yet worked on linen this seemed like a nice picture to try it out with. I lightened the picture quite a bit because the first time I ran it through the software it chose awfully dark colors in the face. I also sharpened it up with the software and that caused it to use a lot more colors, more shading. I'm curious to see how this turns out.

I've been reading other cross stitchers' homepages and I like the idea of rotations. They claim that since they started using a rotation that they actually complete more projects. Sounds good to me, I thought I'd try it. So, I'm going to keep doing Secrets in the Garden on weekends, and alternate weeks between this project and the other picture of me during my lunch hours.

I have a couple of other projects I'd love to start but I want to at least get a good start with these first. I also have some UFOs that I may be able to work into rotation on weekends and/or evenings after awhile.
